For the print workshop I decided to take 2 approaches for both methods. For the screen prints I chose to incorporate an urban feature (the crane) into a rural landscape. At first I kept to a minimal colour scheme with the blue sky and grey and then used different colours to make the pieces more expressionist. I then wanted to play around with some of the prints in the style of Robert Rauschenburg by incorporating drawing, painting and my woodcut print in a loose style. The other style of print was to see how well the image worked when overlapped which created an interesting part where the image has lost detail and become almost a silhouette.
The woodcut print was based on my photographs and photoshop work, i took one of the images and focused in on the detail and then used straight lines to give it the urban landscape feel. With the woodcuts I feel like i need to make a few more and incorporate them together for it to work.
